Philosophy INVESTMENT IN RESTORING NATURAL Designing and constructing buildings and infrastructure, purchasing land require large amounts of capital. We want to participate in projects that focus on transforming investment capital into enterprise that generate long term economic, ecologic and community benefits. THE INTEGRAL ECOLOGIC EPOCH History tells us that civilizations rise and fall when their current belief systems, practices, and institutions no longer fit ecological reality. We are facing a global crisis which threatens the very existence of humankind. Our global economy in destroying natural capital at unprecedented rates for the benefit of a small minority of the world’s population. It’s time to shift to a new paradigm grounded in ecological stability and social equity as core values. The key concept is that of a global and local commons. For the individual that commons is your community. For culture and society, the commons is a shared economy and culture. For the built environment, it is a physical commons of shared spaces and resources. For the natural world, it is an ecological commons that we steward to maintain its health and viability. |
